Random Creator Thoughts June 2026

You know the thing about being on social media is to be social in a way. Engagement is so key with growing your community and following along with the content you post. I had to unfollow this one creator whose content I really liked and enjoyed but noticed that the person was not engaging with their audience. I thought it was maybe one post but as I looked, they were not responding to comments really except the automated ones that if you comment a certain word, a link gets sent to you. And I watched this person kind of blow up overnight with the content but not engaging with your audience is just crazy. Like how do you continue to gain a following without talking to people or any kind of engagement?

It may seem like a petty reason to unfollow someone but it is part of being on social media and your growth. It is frustrating if you comment consistently on someone’s posts you follow and you never get a response or acknowledgement from them. It shouldn’t matter how big or small you are, you should be engaging with your audience and community you are building. Now I don’t get many comments on things I post but when I do, I make sure to engage with them. Yes I have missed a few comments here and there but I make sure to be engaging with my audience.

This made me think of an idea or something to try out for the next month or so. Everyday on my social media platforms to like and comment everyday and see what happens. Will it help with growing my community or be noticed by brands? We shall see but it is okay to unfollow because of lack of engagement or you don’t get good vibes from them or they don’t align with you, it is okay. What are your thoughts on this? Was I being petty for unfollowing or had a valid reason? Let’s chat.
