I’ve had this thought on my mind for a while about now needing multiple streams of income to be able to afford your current lifestyle. It is crazy how much the cost of living has increased and it is too much at times. I remember growing up and my parents only had one job and we were able to live comfortably.
When I graduated college, I was naive about how the cost of living worked. I knew I needed a job to move out and afford the things I wanted but didn’t take into account the bills and other expenses that comes with being an adult. Also I just want to say, adulthood is not fun at all 0/5 stars and I don’t recommend it. Anyway, I got a job out of college and decided at some point to get a holiday job just for some extra money on the side and it was a lot working 2 jobs like that. I would work my daytime job and then head to the mall at night to work and sometimes I would be working 6-7 days a week. I got to stay on at the part time job after the holidays and I knew I didn’t want to keep going like this but the money was good. I knew I just wanted to be working one job that I could afford my lifestyle and not be struggling.
Fast forward to now and the cost of living is so different and you basically need more than one income to be comfortable. I thought being a blogger/content creator would help bring in that extra income but not at all. I don’t know if I want to burn myself out with working long days, not really having a break or weekends off. I know there are other ways to generate extra income without working way too much but I wonder if the cost of living will start to decrease at anytime or what? I just can’t believe how much I spend on groceries and other household items. What are tour thoughts on having multiple streams of income and the cost of living?
