I don’t think I mentioned the Blogtober design I’ve been posting with each post lol. I created about 3 of them on Canva and took to my Instagram stories to vote on one of them because I couldn’t decide lol. This one had the most votes so I went with it. I really love how it turned out. Maybe I’ll use the other 2 designs for future Blogtobers lol.
Anyway, I am here to talk about Pink Root. I discovered this brand at the last Hue Affair back in September. I posted a whole vlog and haul on my YouTube channel and was so excited to start trying everything! There will be a lot more reviews and demos coming soon because I went a little overboard but it was worth it due it being the last event ever. I made it a point to check out brands I’ve never tried before and I found quite a few. This will be a two part review because I have more products from Pink Root that I need to try out and review.

Now I stand corrected as this is a Afro-Latina owned brand created by Mariel Mejia that launched in 2019. The focus of Pink Root is cater to all hair textures and types, if you are transitioning from chemically treated hair to natural or looking to maintain your natural hair or just learn to embrace your curls. Like some of us who were trying to navigate how to repair our damaged hair from relaxers and over processing, Mariel was on that same journey and started experimenting in her mother’s kitchen for a solution, hence the creation of Pink Root. Now I’ve tried the leave in conditioner and the Curl Styling Paste so far so let’s jump into those reviews.
Leave In Conditioner

This leave in conditioner helps improve scalp circulation, protects against heat and prevents hair loss. It contains ingredients like sweet almond oil, keratin and others to help combat dry, damaged and frizzy hair. I will say this leave in is very lightweight and is super moisturizing. I love the smooth, silky texture of it. It doesn’t weigh your hair down and smells amazing. I apply my leave in right after rinsing out my deep conditioner and my hair felt amazing and ready for styling. I will have to film with this leave in if you watched the demo that dropped yesterday on my channel.

I also love the packaging so you don’t dispense too much product or spill it. I’ve done that one too many times lol.
Curl Styling Paste

Now this was the product I was the most excited to try out. I was intrigued by the name of it alone and could’t wait to use it. Now I was thinking this would more of thicker texted product because of the name and it containing beeswax but no. It felt like your typical styling product which was really interesting. The styling paste also felt lightweight and super easy to work with.

This curl styling paste helps to lock in moisture, control frizz and strengthen hair. I did my usual twist out when trying this and my results were amazing. I had so much definition, my hair still feels soft and moisturized and just looks so good. Also using the leave in along with the styling paste helped keep my hair super soft and moisturized throughout the week.

I’m assuming you know I’m going to tell you I highly recommend everything lol. I was truly impressed with both products I’ve used from this brand so far. As I stated earlier, there will be a part two with the other products I have (Curl Enhancing Lotion and Curl Defining Gel) and can’t wait to try out. Pink Root only has styling products now but wondering if a shampoo, conditioner, or deep conditioner will be in the works soon. Head over and check them out if you are a curly, natural girl like me or looking for products to help retaining moisture : https://www.pinkrootproducts.com
