It is the start of the “Ber” months (September, October, November and December) and will start cooling down and getting colder. The transition from Summer to Fall to Winter can be a little rough on your skin and body sometimes. I just wanted to share some tips that I normally do to keep myself hydrated and moisturized through the colder months.
Stay Hydrated
Listen, my skin starts to get a little drier when it gets colder out and it does help to keep yourself hydrated, especially from the inside out. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water everyday. I take my Stanley cup to work everyday and have it over the weekend as well. Also eating foods that are very hydrating such as cucumbers, watermelon, celery and oranges to name a few.
Exfoliate Your Skin And Body
You’re going to want to do this more often since the temperatures are dropping and you want to keep your skin looking radiant and feeling soft. I know I slack with this sometimes but getting the dead skin cells off really helps keeping it hydrated, soft and moisturized. I love the body scrubs by Body Prescription that I found in TJ Maxx. There are not too abrasive and love that are a duo product being a scrub and body wash. For my face, I am currently using the Pineapple Exfoliating Powder and Fenty Beauty Cookies and Clean scrub.
Switch To Moisture Rich Products
When it gets a little cooler out, my skin tends to get a little dry so I need more moisturizing products on my body. I normally don’t switch up my facial moisturizer but will start using body butters and shea butter based products on my skin. Regular body lotions only won’t keep my skin moisturized all day like a body butter would. Also it does help sealing in your moisturizer with body oil as well. It also helps to use moisture rich body washes and facial cleansers as well. This goes along with hydrating from the inside out as well.
Getting Fresh Air When You Can
I know this one may sound a little off with everything else mentioned but it is important to get some fresher when you can. I know it may be too cold out but just try a few times a week, well you basically get fresh air everyday if you commute back and forth to the office and are out and about. But just make it more intentional.
