I did something that scared me but you need to do the things scared. I applied to the Ulta Beauty Collective. I was serious intimidated by it because one, I didn’t think I would stand out and two I saw who else was applying and immediately counted myself out. Comparison is such a thief of joy and I still do it. I still compare myself to other creators and I shouldn’t be doing that to myself. I deserve the same opportunities as others, even if my turn comes later. I’m still waiting on the experience of going on a brand trip, being invited to a brand event or dinner and so on. Everyone who creates content should experience that.
So what prompted today’s creator thoughts was when I was completing the application for the Ulta Beauty Collective and it was asking me how much I charge for certain content like YouTube videos, TikTok videos and Instagram. I got intimidated again because I never know what to charge for those items. I don’t want to continue low balling myself and at the same time, I don’t want to overcharge a brand asking. I never knew how much to actually charge for content and it bothers me that I can’t find out how much.
I tried searching online, I tried a tool that someone sent me but it was a really low amount. I feel once again intimidated to ask anyone because it feels like I can’t ask a question these days. You either get ignored, told to sign up for a webinar or class or feel like you have to pay to ask. There is nothing wrong with those who have those paid deliverables, please make your money but I feel like you should have a network of creators to ask genuine questions to.

I don’t know, maybe it is just me who feels this way but I really want to know how much I should be charging so I can pitch to those brands or know what to tell brands when they ask for my rates. Basically that is all I had on my mind lately and of course I’ll think of the other things once this is published so I’ll save it for next month.
