2023 Taught Me…To Protect My Peace More

I have been really intentional on trying to have more peace in my life and be more peaceful. Things have been pretty stressful lately and honestly needed to protect my peace. I am the type of person who doesn’t like confrontation or conflict too much so I do let a lot of things slide without speaking up at all. I also continue to put myself on the backburner and keep pouring from empty which is not a good thing at all. I don’t protect my peace enough and it shows.

I started taking silent car rides recently and they really have been helping me. It is peaceful to just listen to nothing and just be in your thoughts. I am an overthinker and those silent car rides really help me to get a lot of those thoughts out. I also attempted to have quiet and slow mornings where I am up before everyone else (almost, the dog sometimes joins me lol) and just sit in the living room or dining room with my coffee and just be. Both have helped me to be a little more peaceful and help protect my peace.

I also need to protect my peace more in the workplace. I know work can get a little stressful but it shouldn’t be that way almost everyday. I had to set boundaries to have an uninterrupted lunch break or needed a break in general. Also not letting people rush me when I am actually working on something else that is of more importance and they can be patient and wait. It just grinds my gears sometimes when people are super impatient and think I’m supposed to be on their time or think I’m not busy at all. Ugh! I’m learning to protect my peace at work because it is really needed.

I know with protecting my peace, I have to start setting boundaries, not being afraid to speak up and say something and just saying no at times. I want to have those intentional slow, quiet mornings and putting myself first at times. I wouldn’t say I’m trying to be in my soft girl Era but just be more peaceful.
