It is still crazy that we are in November and Thanksgiving is around the corner. It seems like so many people skip over Thanksgiving and just go right to Christmas. I already see the Christmas commercials, the decor and so on. I don’t like that we rush the holidays so much, we should just enjoy them and slow down a bit.

I had a few things happen over the past couple days I wanted to write about. First I was getting a mani/pedi and something came on the tv on statistics on celebrities dealing with depression and other mental health issues and my nail tech says “I don’t understand how you can be so unhappy. You have so much money and get anything you want. You have no reason to be depressed or anything”. Now I just nodded because I didn’t want to say anything back, it would have started an argument. Like money does not equal happiness and I hate that people equate money to being happy. You can have just about everything in the world but you can still be unhappy. I mean that is my opinion but I just don’t think that just because you have a lot of money you are happy. What are your thoughts?

Secondly, I really cannot stand ignorant people and that ignorance should not ever be directed towards children. We were at my son’s soccer game and the opposing team’s parents and players were being super rude towards our team. Now parents should not be saying things to kids on the field, especially racial slurs or anything. Yes, one of the players on my son’s team was being called an ignorant word and I’m glad I did not hear it because we would have had a serious problem. It is 2023….why are we still dealing with this? It just breaks my heart that some of our kids had to deal with this and shame on the other kids and parents. And what blows my mind is that some of the players on the other team were black…..so I am pretty sure their parents heard it and it was okay with them? What excludes your child but it is okay to call some of our children that? Like I hate that no one checked the parents or the other players for saying something and no child should ever have to deal with that. Also grown ass adults should know better than not to address a child, you talk to the coach, the ref or the parent of that child. Now I want to be more ears on the opposing team’s sideline because I will advocate for our team and have no problem checking an adult for addressing a child. Your thoughts?

This world is still so cruel and our children should not have to deal with this at all. It gets to me more because I am a mother and raising a son in a world that doesn’t love us so much. Also children in general should be off limits to ignorance and all of the cruel things in this world. I know that some point in their life, they have to deal with this but not as smaller children. They don’t deserve it at all.
