Naturalle Drea

Listen, I don’t have any complaints because I still have a roof over my head, food to eat and clothes to wear but life has been pretty interesting lately. I’ve been doing lots and lots of thinking about just about everything and majority of it is currently in my journal. As I stated maybe the last time I did a post in this series, I’m learning to take my rants, complaints, grievances to my journal. It really helps and makes things so much better when I can just clear out whatever is on my mind.

I still can’t get over having a 13 year old kid. It is just crazy how much time flew by and he is growing up. I still have my fears of raising a black son in this world because they are not so nice to them and us and it is scary. There are times I still want to put him in a bubble and protect him but I know I can’t but I can protect him as best as I can. I know navigating this next level of parenting is not going to be easy but I am working on that. I know I have to have a lot of patience (and wine lol) and just be understanding as he has changing hormones and feelings and all the things going on as you are growing up and going through puberty. I know things will get easier hopefully as we move through these teenage years.

Also I’ve been thinking super heavily about going back to school and getting my masters degree. I am really kicking myself for not taking full advantage of it at my last employer. I started a few classes and just fell off and never finished and basically could have finished my degree for free. I still think about it and just thinking about what that means for me. I’ll basically be starting over and writing papers, discussion questions, homework, tests, studying on top of working full time, creating content, my family and all. I’m not sure if it will be worth it but it may work out…I’ll keep you all updated.

But other than that…life has been good.
