Pattern Beauty First Impressions

Sometimes it is hard to keep up with the natural hair community. New products are dropping all the time and it is hard trying not to buy everything lol. When Traces Ellis Ross announced her new line, I was pretty excited about it. It took me a little bit to get around to this review and demo but here it is lol. I had a few people ask me to review the products and wanted to know my thoughts on it and side note please feel free to ask me to review or demo any product you have seen or heard of. I am always excited and will to try new things (I’m just a product junkie lol).

I like how Pattern Beauty is geared toward everyone with curls to wear them freely and proud. At this time there is only the shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, argan oil and some tools. I am hoping that they come out with a deep conditioner, some styling products and much more but clean hair is the basis for any style.

I really like the Hydration Shampoo. It has a silky, smooth texture and a little bit goes a long way. I made the mistake of using too much shampoo because it lathers very well. When I washed my hair once, it felt pretty clean and not too stripped but when I went in for the second time, it did feel a little more stripped but my scalp and hair was clean.

There are 3 different conditioners in the Pattern Beauty line, Medium, Heavy and Intensive. I picked up the heavy and I honestly should of gone with the medium. The heavy conditioner was thick, thick! I haven’t used a conditioner that thick before but I made it work. I felt it was a little too thick for my hair but it may work for someone else’s texture. It did leave my hair feeling better soft and hydrated but just too thick for me.

I really loved the leave in conditioner. It was pretty lightweight and my curls were popping lol. It defined my curls and helped moisturize my hair. I would love to try this leave in with a wash and go when it gets warmed outside.

Overall, I am happy with Pattern Beauty and my results. I would say to be careful when picking out a conditioner and it seems you can’t be too heavy handed with these products. Would I pick these up again? Yes I would but with a different conditioner next time.

Have you tried Patter Beauty yet? What were your thoughts?

  1. I’m so happy that more and more natural hair actors are coming up with product because why not? I mean they are one of the biggest influencers . This is another brand I would like to try as well.

    1. I agree, they do have a huge influence especially if they are known for their natural hair. I wonder who else will come out with something.
